Mapping the Wildlife, Habitats and Plants of Kilkenny City

What's being done?

A survey of the wildlife, habitats and plants of Kilkenny City is presently being undertaken by the Heritage Office of Kilkenny County Council. Ecology consultants Atkins are employed by the County Council to undertake the survey and mapping.

Why?

The information on the habitats and wildlife will be used to identify important wildlife areas, to inform future planning in the city, and will be available for communities, tidy towns groups and the public.

How can I get involved?

We'd love to hear from residents, interested naturalists and anyone who can tell us more about the plants, animals, habitats and wild places of Kilkenny city. If you have some stories or information about the wildlife of Kilkenny, or would like to hear more about the project, then this event is for you.

When and Where?

An informal meeting will be held at 7.30pm on Wednesday 14th July in City Hall (The Tholsel), Kilkenny. All are welcome.

If you'd like to find out more but can't make the meeting...
