Notice of Publication of the Draft Development Contribution Scheme


Kilkenny Borough Council has prepared a draft Development Contribution Scheme in accordance with Section 48 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000.

Copies of the draft Development Contribution Scheme are available:

  1. for a period of six weeks, from Friday 12th October, 2007 to Friday, the 23rd November, 2007, in the Kilkenny Borough Council offices at City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny during normal opening hours

    or
  2. on the Kilkenny Borough Council website at: Draft Development Contribution Scheme, as per Section 48 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000

 

Submissions or observations in relation to the draft Development Contribution Scheme may be made, before the close of business on Friday, 23rd of November, as follows:

 

  1. in writing, to the Head of Finance, Kilkenny City Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny.

    or
  2. by email, to ddcscheme@kilkennycity.ie

Proposed Development Contributions Applicable from the 1st January 2008

 

Description of DevelopmentAmount of Contribution
(per m2 of development area unless otherwise specified)
1.     Residential development – Roads & Recreation + Water + Wastewater€65
2.     Commercial & Industrial – Roads & Recreation + Water + Wastewater€60
3.     Change of use from residential to commercialThe charges as appropriate in 1. to 2. above less any development contributions already paid on the residential development
4.     Shortfall in car parking provided€10,000 per space
5.     Communication Masts€10,000 per mast
6.     Development not coming within any of the foregoing classes€65

 

In the case of a mixed development, the fee payable will be based on the sum of charges applicable to each development type within the mixed development with each development type to be charged as per the above categories.

The draft Development Contribution Scheme allows for the exemption from, or reductions in, the amount of contribution payable in certain circumstances.
