Notice of the Preparation of the Draft Development Plan for Kilkenny City & Environs
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Borough of Kilkenny and the Council of the County of Kilkenny, being the Planning Authorities for the Borough of Kilkenny and the County Health District of Kilkenny County (City Environs) respectively have pursuant to the provisions of the above Act prepared a Draft Development Plan for Kilkenny City and Environs for the period 2008 to 2014.
The Draft Plan is accompanied by an Environmental Report prepared in accordance with the Planning & Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004.
A copy of the Draft Development Plan and Environmental Report may be inspected at the offices of Kilkenny Borough Council City Hall High Street Kilkenny during the hours of 9.00am to 5.pm Monday to Friday and at Planning Office of Kilkenny County Council, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny during the hours of 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., Monday to Friday for a period of 10 weeks from the 10th August 2007 to the 19th October 2007 (both dates inclusive but excluding Public Holidays).
The Draft Development Plan and Environmental Report may also be inspected at the County Council's Area Offices from the 10th August 2007 to the 19th October 2007 (both dates inclusive but excluding Public Holidays) as follows:
Thomastown Area Office Mon - Fri 9am -5pm closed 1-2
Callan Area Office Mon - Fri 9am-5pm closed 1-2
Castlecomer Area Office Mon - Fri 9am-5pm closed 1-2
Newrath Area Office Mon - Fri 9-5 closed 1-2
A copy of the Draft Plan and the Environmental Report will also be available for public inspection at the County Library, Johns Quay, Kilkenny and the branch Library, Loughboy during their normal opening hours.
Copies of the Draft Plan and Environmental Report may also be downloaded from the Councils web sites at www.kilkennycity.ie and www.kilkennycoco.ie from the 10th August 2007.
Written submissions may be made to the Planning Authorities, with respect to the Draft Development Plan and the Environmental Report, up to 5pm on the 19th October 2007. All submissions made within the period specified will be taken into consideration before the making of the Development Plan. Submissions may be addressed to the Senior Executive Officer Kilkenny Borough Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny or to the Director of Service Planning Department, Council Offices, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny.
