NOTICE OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT BY A LOCAL AUTHORITY
In accordance with Section 179 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, Kilkenny Borough Council hereby give notice if its intention to carry out the following development at the locations known as Talbot’s Tower, Ormonde Road and Lower New Street, Kilkenny City. The building and the adjoining Town Walls are protected under the National Monuments Act 1930-2004. The tower is listed in the Kilkenny City Development Plan and Environs 2002 as a Protected Structure and is within the Patrick’s street Designated Architectural Conservation Area.
- Re-building of the stairs to the top of the Tower
- Conservation works to the Tower and the adjoining Town Walls
- Re-configuration of the site area and all associated site works
Plans and Particulars of the proposed developments are available for inspection at the Planning Offices of Kilkenny Borough Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny, from Friday30th January 2009, to Friday 13th March 2009, inclusive, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed developments, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development will be carried out, may be made in writing to the undersigned on or before Friday 27th March 2009.
