Introduction:
The Kilkenny AFC programme was launched at a public meeting in Kilkenny on 26th March. The Chair of the programme, County Manager Joe Crockett, committed at the meeting to conducting a county wide consultation process, to ensure that the strategy is informed by the views and priorities of older people and their own organisations.

What we want to achieve:

  • Ensure that the priorities and ambitions of all key stakeholder groups, particularly older people and their organisations are reflected strongly in the AFC Strategy for Kilkenny
  • Build support and interest among older people and other stakeholders in the programme
  • Give older people and their organisations a strong sense that their views will influence the final strategy
  • Identify mechanisms by which the older adults in Kilkenny can become genuine partners in the ongoing design and delivery of services in the county

How to get involved:
You are invited to attend public consultation and Active Listening workshops; we want to hear your view across six key areas to do with:

  • Home
  • Engagement in your Community
  • Physical Environment, Outdoor Spaces, Public Services, Transport
  • Community Support and Health Services
  • Income
  • Communication and Information
