Transition Year Learning Module
'Enabling Access across Generations'
This learning module, devised by the National Network of Access Officers from Local Authorities, in conjunction with the National Disability Authority, creates opportunities for raising awareness around accessibility and disability-related issues among the youth of today.
All Transition Year Schools in the County were invited to take part and create a piece of visual imagery depicting the theme 'Enabling Access across Generations' as part of a National Competition.
Judging of the County Level entries will take place in Kilkenny County Hall during National Accessibility Week 2nd - 6th December, 2013 with the winning entry to proceed to a National Judging level to represent County Kilkenny and its respective school.
The National Final and Award Ceremony is scheduled to take place in City Hall, Dublin on 27th January, 2014, at which all County Level finalists and their school representatives from around the Country will be present to collect their awards and participate in an exhibition of their work.
The National Level winning entry will be used as a poster by Access Officers countrywide during 2014 to heighten awareness of accessibility and disability-related issues.
