The Annual Meeting of Kilkenny Borough Council will convene on Monday 15th June 2009 at 7.30 pm in the Town Hall, High Street, Kilkenny at which the first business of the newly elected council will be the election of Mayor.  This meeting is the first meeting of the newly elected council following the local elections held on 5th June 2009 and will be chaired by the newly elected Mayor.

Local authorities by virtue of their democratic mandate make appointments to a range of bodies. Kilkenny borough Council makes appointments to the following bodies

• Association of the Municipal Authorities of Ireland
• Operational Committee for E.U. Assistance functions of the South Eastern Regional Authority
• Irish Water Safety Association (Kilkenny Branch)
• Watergate Theatre Co. Ltd.
• Kilkenny Tourism Committee.
• K.C.A.N.
• I.P.B.M.I. Ltd.
• Rothe House Trust
• Kilkenny City Joint Policing Committee
• County Kilkenny Vocational Educational Committee
• Kilkenny County Council Strategic Policy Committee.
• County Development Board.
• Kilkenny County Enterprise Board.
• Joint Committees of Kilkenny Borough council and Kilkenny County Council
